For now, I want to tell you that I like reading your wish lists (you can see the comments of this post, and the blogs of the readers who posted their wishes on them).
And now, I leave with some images from yesterday and my contribution today for the BeNcH MoNdAy group.
(The cookies? Homemade Oreos, made following this recipe, almost perfect except for the amount of sugar -I would have used even less- and because the filling calls for a certain "shortening" which I don't know the translation for, so I used butter -I found some info through google that said that it could be replaced this way- and it turned a little too butter-y, although almost perfect. Yes, we sampled a few, but today we already bought all the vegetables and fruits for the week, juices, salads, stews...)

Ohh yum, those look and sound good!
ResponderEliminarHere in NZ, our shortening brand is Kremelta, in the US its Crisco and in the UK - Cookeen is a popular brand, so maybe look out for those popular ones? Its very similar to butter, or lard and comes in a margarine-like container, but doesn't need to be stored in the fridge, just in the pantry. :-)

I absolutely ADORE your kitchen!!! Those oreos are making me want some. Never thought of having them homemade before. They look heavenly!
ResponderEliminaryou have such a beautiful kitchen! I'd seen glimpses of your home, which is just gorgeous and warm and vivid, so I probably shouldn't have expected anything less of the kitchen! +Chelsea
ResponderEliminarKylie, thanks for the explanation! Do you know what is it made of? Anyway, I will google it a little more. Thanks!
ResponderEliminarBianca, thanks! These cookies turned out particularly yummy. Little Miss, who never eats a lot of sweet things, ate a lot!
Chelsea, thank you so much! I love that kitchen also very much, and I am having a hard time imagining of letting it go when we move... sigh. It is "my" part of the house. Not only because of the cooking, but for the time I spend there, and the love I put while we made it. And I just love kitchens!!
Julie!! Me matas!!
